7th January 1987

Assent. Lily Ethel Sharp of 79 High Street, Stony Stratford inherits “All that cottage or tenement known as 32 High Street Nash”.

12th May 1997

“Nos. 32 and 34 were originally built in the late 18th Century as four one-up, one down cottages.  The plaque on the outside of the properties states 1867, but this was the date they were rebuilt after being partially destroyed by fire in 1866.  From the 1930’s, the row was known as “Hillside” but the present owners are seriously considering naming the cottage “Mary Varney’s”, as she lived here for approximately 60 years until 1996 and the name means more than the number to most locals!  The barn alongside the cottage was used in the past for making coffins.”
